The Moa was part of a two person show At Eclectomania Gallery in Los Angeles. The theme was extinct birds. I made 6 drawings for the show. Each was a montage of several images, picturing the bird, its habitat and the story of its extinction. I learned a great deal while involved in the project. In the case of the moa, I became fascinated with Richard Owen, pictured in the lower left portion of the drawing. He was a brilliant, egocentric, scientist, who felt the fame of Charles Darwin, a contemporary, was undeserved. I ended up doing a drawing of Owen for myself. See it by scrolling by the moa.
