"The Heir" is inspired by Romans 8:17 in the Bible where is says all believers will be Heirs with Christ. I love vintage and Rococo styles, so I added that in with her dress and the frame. The ruins in the landscape behind her show that this current world will pass away. The ghostly bluebirds are symbolic of the holy spirit, or could be seen as yet another way this current world is transient.
It is oil on canvas panel, 8" x 10" and framed. Created in 2021.
