An original gouache painting of a Taro pond in Hanalei on the North shore of Kauai in Hawaii. Red Ti plants can be seen in the distance and the dramatically beautiful, lush, green mountains of Kauai including Mount Wai'ale'ae. Taro is an important crop in Hawaii, it grows in shallow ponds in wet areas of the island.

This painting is as much about the place as it is about the special quality of light on the mountains and sky reflections in the pond water. I discovered this spot while visiting the island, it remains one of my favorite view of Kauai.

This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is painted with the highest quality gouache paints and heavy weight 100% cotton archival cotton rag paper.

I love this landscape, it reminds me of Viñales in Pinar del Rio, Havana, Cuba! Very good work
