Depth

"Depth" is a meditation on depth and it's many definitions. In this work Huppman explores layers of understanding and perception through semi opaque veils of deep color. These darker colors are suggestive of the deeper places we go in our minds through meditation and reflection to a place of understanding and calm awareness. Each layer asks a question, will you go deeper? She paints to connect with an emotional response and resonance in her viewer.

This piece was made using many layers of thin glazes to draw the viewer's eye deep into the painting and into themselves.

"Depth" is acrylic on a custom canvas that is mounted to a rigid foam substrate which supports the wooden stretcher and allows for a lighter final weight. It is wired and ready to hang. It needs no frame.
